Gloucestershire Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre (GRASAC)

Gloucestershire Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre provides emotional and practical support to survivors of rape, sexual assault and childhood sexual abuse regardless of gender.

Our Independent Sexual Violence Advisors (ISVA) can guide anyone who lives in Gloucestershire, regardless of age and gender, going through the criminal justice system or considering reporting their experience to the police. Our ISVA service offers a free and confidential specialist support, providing practical and emotional help to anyone who has been a victim of sexual violence at any time in their lives. A referral to our ISVA service can either be made by you or any professional agency.

We also provide 20 one-to-one emotional support sessions for individuals age 13+, offering the space and time to talk through their thoughts, feelings and options with a specialist support worker. We can meet the client at our centre or at a safe and convenient location elsewhere. For people over 18, we only accept self-referrals for this service, which can be completed through our admin line 01452305421.

Gloucestershire Rape and Sexual Centre provide a confidential service.

We do not ask you for any personal details and you do not have to give us your real name. We don’t trace calls and your number will not be revealed to us, so unless you give us identifying information (such as your full name or address), you will remain anonymous. We will not share what you have said to us with anyone outside of the service.

We will only break confidentiality if:

  • you request us to
  • if you’ve given us identifying information, and you’re a vulnerable adult, and we’re concerned for your safety
  • if you are a child at risk, or you are giving us identifying information about a child at risk. We will discuss this with you first and we will remind you, before you give us identifying information, of our duty under Child Protection and Vulnerable Adult Legislation
